COVID-19 has dramatically changed what our everyday lives look like in ways we could never have anticipated. And these changes will continue to play a big part in our future as we make our way towards the new COVID normal.
Protect yourself and protect the ones you love with these simple steps:
Practice good hygiene
Regularly clean and disinfect high touch surfaces such as bench tops and tables. Also avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth as much as you can, and remember to cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue.
Wash and sanitise hands frequently
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 30 seconds. When you're out and about, remember to sanitise with a hand sanitiser with at least 70% alcohol.
Practice social distancing
As restrictions ease, remember to continue to practice social distancing wherever possible, and stay at least 1.5m away from others.
Stay home when you're unwell
Avoid leaving the house if you have a scratchy throat, fever, cough or other cold and flu-like symptoms. Check your temperature before you leave the house, and seek medical care and get tested for COVID-19.
Avoid enclosed spaces and crowds
If you can, move your social gatherings to outside venues, and avoid crowded spaces as much as possible.
Consider loved ones who are high risk
Consider those around you who may be vulnerable or high risk, such as those with underlying health conditions and older adults. Avoid close contact with anyone who is sick, or has been around someone diagnosed with COVID-19.
Wear a mask
One of the most effective ways we can protect ourselves and others is by wearing a mask. But not all masks are created equal. For the best protection against COVID-19, choose a fitted mask with at least three layers, that hugs the face and covers the nose and mouth. Here is an Australian made, medical grade mask which will keep you protected when you need to wear a mask. You can get them in packs of 10, which come in a compact travel pack with all the essentials you need to keep you safe, including surface wipes and sanitiser.
