Import Duties, Taxes & Tariffs

🇺🇸 Important Information for USA Customers

Recent changes introduced by U.S. Customs mean that all commercial shipments entering the United States may now attract import duties, taxes, or tariffs — regardless of order value.

Here’s what you need to know:

🔹 New tariffs and taxes

All commercial shipments entering the U.S. now face import duties and other charges, even for low-value orders. 

🔹 Specific duty rates

Duty amounts depend on the product type and country of origin.

For the next six months, parcels shipped through the international postal system may now face flat-rate duties ranging from USD $80 to $200 per package. See timeline below.

🔹 Increased costs & possible delays

With the removal of the old duty-free exemption, American customers may experience:

• Higher overall costs for imported products
  
• Longer delivery times due to increased customs inspections
  

🔹 Limited exception: gifts under $100

A small exemption still applies only to gifts valued at USD $100 or less, which remain duty-free.

🔹 Customer responsibility

Any duties, taxes or tariffs applied by U.S. Customs must be paid by the customer upon arrival of the parcel.

U.S. Import Fee Changes – What You Need to Know

From 29 August 2025 — Changes Now in Effect

• The USD $800 duty-free threshold has been removed.
• All commercial shipments entering the USA may now incur import duties, taxes or tariff.
• These charges are set by U.S. Customs and are paid by the customer on arrival.

**29 August 2025 → 28 February 2026

Six-Month Transition Period (Postal Shipments Only)**

Applies to parcels sent through the international postal system (such as Australia Post).

U.S. Customs may apply flat-rate duties during this period:

• USD $80
• USD $160
• USD $200

Please note:

• The amount depends on the product type and the country of origin.
• There may be additional delays due to increased customs inspections.

From 1 March 2026 — Standard Duties Apply

Postal shipments to the USA will move to value-based duties, calculated by U.S. Customs.

Duty is based on:

• Product type
• Declared value
• Country of origin

Tariffs may also apply depending on current U.S. trade regulations.

🎁 Gift Exception (Still Active)

Genuine gifts valued at USD $100 or less may still enter duty-free.

This does not apply to commercial orders.
