Directions for use

Adults and children over 12 years: Squeeze 4-10cm of gel onto the affected area then replace the cap. (This represents 50-125mg of ibuprofen). Gently rub in the gel until it is absorbed - then wash your hands.

Do not reapply more gel within 4 hours. Do not use with an air tight dressing. Do not apply it more than 4 times in 24 hours.

Contains benzyl alcohol 1% w/w as a preservative. Contains alcohol.

Can I use the Nurofen gel and take Nurofen pain relief tablets at the same time?

Both Nurofen Pain & Inflammation Relief Gel and Nurofen pain relief tablets contain ibuprofen, so using them together may increase your total ibuprofen intake. Can I use this pain relief gel with heat packs or cold packs?

It’s best not to use heat packs on areas where you’ve applied Nurofen Pain & Inflammation Relief Gel, as heat can increase absorption through the skin and may raise the risk of irritation or side effects.

However, cold packs may be used before or after applying the gel, as they can help reduce swelling and complement the gel’s anti-inflammatory action. Always allow the gel to fully absorb and follow the instructions on the label. If you’re unsure, check with a healthcare professional or pharmacist.

Can I use the pain relief gel while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Nurofen Pain & Inflammation Relief Gel contains ibuprofen, and like all medicines, it should be used with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It is not recommended for use during the third trimester of pregnancy, and during the earlier stages or while breastfeeding, you should only use it under the advice of a doctor or pharmacist.
