Directions

Before putting on the AMD P2 mask, wash hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or rub hands together thoroughly with alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
Take care not to touch the inside layer of the respirator mask that will be in contact with the nose and mouth when unpacking and while donning.
Check for defects in the respirator mask such as tears or broken loops. Position the label side of the mask outward and orient it so that the foam nose bridge strip is at the top.
Unfold the P2 respirator mask while holding onto the edges (again being careful not to touch the area that will be in contact with the nose and mouth). Position the unfolded mask over the nose and mouth and place one ear loop over each ear.
Mould the nose bridge wire to the bridge of the nose and while pinching the nose bridge in place stretch the bottom of the respirator over the chin. Press along the edges of the P2 respirator mask to maximise the seal.
Avoid touching the respirator while using it; if touched, clean hands with alcohol-based hand sanitiser or soap and water.
Replace the P2 mask if it becomes obviously contaminated; never reuse single-use respirator masks.
Removing the respirator mask: Wash hands with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitiser before removing the respirator. Remove it by unhooking the ear loops, taking care not to touch the front of the respirator mask which might have become contaminated. Discard immediately in a closed bin and clean hands with alcohol-based hand sanitiser or soap and water.

What makes nanofibre masks different from meltblown masks?

Nanofibres are incredibly thin—just 1 nanometre, or one-billionth of a metre. This advanced material is crafted into a unique three-dimensional, fishnet-like structure that enhances breathability, filtration efficiency, and durability compared to traditional fibres.

The AMD nanofibre filter is made from spun-bond non-woven fabric, with polypropylene as its primary material. What mask size is best for me?

Our AMD P2 masks come in a range of sizes to ensure the best fit. For earloop masks, the EP24 offers a Regular S-M size, slightly smaller than the EP26, which is Regular One Size. Both are suitable for most adults and children over 12 years. The headband masks are available in Small (S) and Medium (M) sizes. Is KF94 the same as P2?

KF94 and P2 masks are similar in purpose but differ in certification standards and slight variations in filtration efficiency. KF94 masks meet the South Korean standard and offer 94% filtration efficiency for particles as small as 0.4 microns, whereas P2 masks meet the Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 1716:2012 and filter around 94-95% of particles at 0.3 microns.

While both offer high levels of protection, the slight differences in particle size standards and certification bodies distinguish them. Both KF94 and P2 masks are effective for general respiratory protection, but if you need a mask that meets Australian/New Zealand compliance, P2 is the better choice.

Can a P2 mask filter out particles as small as viruses, including COVID-19?

Yes, the AMD P2 Nano-Tech Particulate Respirator with a nanofibre filter is designed to filter out extremely fine particles, including those as small as viruses. The nanofibre filter has a pore size between 0.05 - 0.1 microns, which effectively blocks particles in the virus range.

Can I wash the P2 face mask?

No, P2 face masks should not be washed. Washing can compromise the integrity and effectiveness of the mask's filtration capabilities. Instead, dispose of the mask properly after each use and replace it with a new, clean P2 face mask when needed.

How do I make sure a face mask fits properly?

Ensure the nose bridge strip is at the top. Unfold the mask while holding onto the edges and position it over your nose and mouth. Place one ear loop over each ear and pull it under your chin. Mould the nose bridge to your nose and you’re set.

What if the face mask feels too loose?

The masks are a standard size so those with smaller faces may need to tie a little loop in each ear loop to make sure the mask forms a good seal around the face, or you can use a mask extender.

Do the AMD P2 EP24 masks come in different colours?

No, the EP24 masks are exclusive to Aussie Pharma Direct and are only available in white.

The EP24 and EP26 masks have the same width, but there are subtle differences, such as the length of the nose wire and chin flap. The EP24 was specifically designed to provide a better fit for children over 12 or individuals with smaller faces, while the EP26 was designed to cater to most adults.

What Is Meltblown Filtration?
Meltblown filtration is the traditional method used in most P2 and N95 masks, made by blowing molten plastic through fine nozzles to create a soft, nonwoven fabric. While it does provide effective filtration, meltblown material is more prone to moisture absorption, which can reduce effectiveness over time — especially during extended wear or high humidity.
These filters are also more delicate, often requiring careful storage and handling to prevent degradation. Once exposed to moisture or crushed, meltblown fibres can lose their electrostatic charge — which plays a key role in particle capture.
Unlike AMD’s nanofibre material, meltblown masks may need more frequent changes and can become harder to breathe through after prolonged use.
What Is Nanofibre Filtration?
Nanofibre technology is a next-generation filtration method that uses an ultra-fine, tightly woven web of synthetic fibres — each about 1,000 times thinner than a human hair. This creates a high-density mesh that can trap even the smallest airborne particles, including viruses, bacteria, dust, and fine pollutants, all while maintaining excellent airflow.
